HOLY ROSARY, CHRIST THE KING
SANTA ANA, SAN ANTONIO
Signing up for a time of adoration is a commitment firstly to Our Lord but also to the community. Once the Lord is displayed in Exposition, He must not be left unattended and so those who sign up must follow through and show up in their allotted time. As you consider this, I would invite you to think about these three motivations for spending time in adoration. One, it is time spent with the Lord. If you are being moved to further prayer this may be a good way to do it. Two, it is our gift and duty to the community in which we live. Time spent with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is a blessing for the entire community. He is displayed for the good of all, and you will be the vehicle of those goods. Thirdly, Jesus is calling us to this. The division, confusion anger and disillusion that plagues our society plagues also the Church, our parish and our school. Prayer is the answer and prayer will lead us to the solution that brings peace. Ideally, there needs to be at least two people for every hour. The time selected will be your assigned time every week. You may sign up for as many hours as you like or are available. Of course, anyone can go to adoration at any time they wish. The assignment process is to assure the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended. We are asking everyone to make your weekly commitment for one year. If you are going out of town, the software allows you to request a substitute while you are away. You can also ask a friend or family member to be your substitute. The Lord is calling us to something great.
Think about this and pray about it. -Father Francisco Flores
