This spring has been busy. Holy Week and Easter came and the following week was the Confirmation Mass at the Mountain America Center and last week were the
First Communions. These special Masses turned out beautifully and well organized. Those who come to these Masses perhaps rarely think of all that needs to happen for them to turn out so well. It takes a lot of work, numerous people, commitment and dedication. The choirs put forth beautiful songs and music for all those special Masses and those choirs and their directors spent dozens of hours selecting music and practicing. Those who decorate the church begin thinking and planning months ahead. Flowers have to be ordered months in advance and since they are natural the orders cannot always be fulfilled as planned. The sacristans have the heavy task of making sure everything is ready and in good order for these and all Masses. They worked beautifully as a team for all Masses but in particular the Confirmation Mass. The ushers, the lectors and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion also give generously of their time to these special Masses, oftentimes serving at more than one of these Masses. The altar servers take great pride in their ministry and many of them generously served at more than one of these special Masses as well. Those who scheduled these ministries had the big task of making sure all the slots were covered and that
everyone knew where they were assigned. I am grateful for these individuals who give their time to serve God and our parish. None of these individuals is paid. They all do it because of their desire to serve. Today I wish to acknowledge them and thank them for the wonderful service they provide our parish.
These people are not volunteers, a volunteer can come and go as they wish, rather, they are members of the parish family doing what it takes to serve the parish. These people are committed to serve and to offer themselves for what is needed for the well running of a parish. If you know anyone who serves our parish in one of these Mass ministries, please thank them and show your appreciation.

Esta primavera ha sido muy ocupada. La Semana Santa y el Domingo de Resurrección pasaron y la siguiente semana fue la Misa de Confirmaciones en el Mountain America Center, y por fin la semana pasada fueron las Primeras Comuniones. Estas Misas especiales fueron hermosas y bien organizadas. Los que vienen a Misa quizás no se dan cuenta de todo lo que sucede para que todo salga bien. Se toma mucho trabajo de mucha gente comprometida y dedicada. Los coros produjeron hermosos cantos para todas estas Misas especiales porque sus directores tomaron el tiempo para organizar la música y ensayar. Los que adornan las iglesias comenzaron sus preparaciones desde hace meses. Las flores se tienen que ordenar con tiempo y al fin de cuentas no siempre llega lo que esperábamos porque son plantas y flores naturales. Los sacristanes tienen el esfuerzo pesado de asegurar que todo esté listo y en buena condición para estas y todas las Misas. Trabajaron muy bien como equipo en particular para la Misa de Confirmaciones. Los ujieres, los lectores y los ministros extraordinarios de la Santa Comunión también ponen mucho de su tiempo para estas Misas, a veces teniendo que servir en más de una de ellas. Los monaguillos toman muy en serio su ministerio y se ofrecen a servir en todas las Misas. Los que hacen las listas de los ministerios tienen el trabajo de asegurar que cada Misa está cubierta y que todos sepan a cuál les toca. Estoy muy agradecido a estos individuos que dan su tiempo para servir a Dios y a la parroquia. A ninguna de estas personas se le paga. Lo hacen por su deseo de servir. Hoy los quiero reconocer y agradecerles por el servicio maravilloso que ofrecen a la parroquia. Estas personas no son voluntarios, un voluntario va y viene como le dé la gana, más bien son miembros de la familia parroquial haciendo el trabajo de la parroquia. Estas personas son comprometidas a servir y ofrecerse a sí mismos por lo que se necesita para que las Misas corran bien. Si tu conoces a alguno que sirve en uno de los ministerios de la Misa por favor conócelos y agradecerles sus esfuerzos.
