HOLY ROSARY, CHRIST THE KING
SANTA ANA, SAN ANTONIO
35 parishioners of all ages from our parish attended SEEK25 in Salt Lake City. See the video with highlights and the testimonials below.
All participants also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for everyone who contributed to this trip - financially and otherwise!"I left SEEK with a renewed desire to grow my relationship with the Lord. While sitting in on great talks, I was moved by how the presenters were living their identity to the fullest, embracing life, and loving those around them. Spending the start of the new year with 17,000 Catholics gave me a chance to say more fully, “Lord, I am listening.”" - Jorge Rangel
"My SEEK experience was nothing short of Divine. Not the way most people use it to describe a wonderful thing, but Divine as in touched by Him. Every single day had at least one moment when I was overcome by His presence and had to just stop to let Him embrace me." - Tara Drexler
"What a privilege it was to attend SEEK25! Sharing a space with predominantly young people, as well as clergy and religious, was a great way to usher in the Year of Jubilee, for me – even though my contemporaries were fewer. The pilgrimage of HOPE was evident in the earnest reception of the messages given in the packed talks, the kindness of the attendees towards one another and the heightened level of The Spirit shown by the fervor of the crowds at the keynotes and even the reverence at the Masses which were amazingly quiet despite the attendance of 18,000 souls. SEEK was where I found Solace, Enlightenment, Enthusiasm and Knowledge! In hindsight, my favorite memory is the hours (literally over 3 hours) standing in line with 5000 others to experience Reconciliation. During the actual waiting time I started out feeling anxious and annoyed and thought about my aching feet and back. But, God took that opportunity to reframe my thoughts. I found appreciation for the time: to honor my relationship with God, to re-evaluate and acknowledge my rebelliousness, to hunger for the reconciliation found in Confession, to become a re-creation with others soaked in the zeal of saying yes to the love of God, and to rekindle the natural response of action and evangelization. These 5 R’s were the undercurrent of the 5 days. He amazingly and lovingly guided the experience of a long line into becoming symbolic of making my own pilgrimage. Do not let the world define you – God who loved us into creation tells us who we are – the beloved, adopted children of God. He created, redeemed and rescued us. He loves us more." - Robin Villarreal
"I'm so grateful for the opportunity to attend SEEK. It would be wonderful enough to spend five days in the presence of so many great Catholic speakers, religious, and clergy and to experience the joy of community where such a thing is hard to find, but SEEK was a gift to me on a personal level. In the quiet and stillness deep within the noisy roar of joy in the Lord, I was reminded that God is ever present. In the still or the chaotic, in the silent or the bold, in the broken or transformed, Christ comes to us, and He came to me. I will treasure the gift of the lessons I learned and the friendships I gained into the next chapters of my story with thanksgiving and joy." - Kaitlin Gotch
"The speakers at SEEK25 were incredible, but what really set my soul on fire were those small, unexpected moments of grace. Sharing a cramped basement Airbnb with six other guys, we became 'Team Bountiful,' a flock shepherded through the experience. Simple acts of service, just like Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, built a real brotherhood. We learned from each other, prayed together, and grew in our faith. Dr. Edward Sri talked about finding friends who are like burning coals, keeping each other 'hotter for longer,' and that's exactly what we experienced. It was like Christ was whispering, 'I see you, even in the crowd, even in your imperfection.' SEEK25 wasn't just a conference, it was a journey of faith that opened my eyes to the depth and beauty of Christ's love in everyday life." - Rusty O'Malley
"Our combined discussions as a group were key to enhancing our combined and personal experiences while at SEEK that made a very real personal difference in my own perspective of how we are all in need of God and being able to discuss thoughts, concerns in real time with our local priest allowed for more immediate resolution and closeness with God." - Randall Lillie
